SADP Team

Southeast Asia Development Program (SADP) is rooted for accountable, development and community leadership. These are embodied by the relationships among our team, communities and partners — united in care, solidarity and a drive for social and environmental inclusion. Our team brings a diverse range of expertise, knowledge, and lived experience to our work. Learn more about our team below.

HEM VANARATH (Nareth) (Coordinator)

Ms. Nareth (she/her/hers) commenced working with SADP since 2016 as consultant and has been selected as Coordinator in September 2024.

She has nearly 20 years of professional experience where is working with local non-government organizations in empowering marginalized and vulnerable urban and rural communities (including Indigenous communities) as well as significant experience in sustainable livelihood development integrating aspects of biodiversity conservation, climate change mitigation and inclusion.  She has extensive experience in local youth empowerment, and gender equality promotion as well as research, monitoring and evaluation towards communal self-reliance.

Her experience has equipped her with a comprehensive understanding of civil society dynamics, networks and multi-actor partnerships, and perspectives of Indigenous peoples and other marginalized and vulnerable community groups. She received a Master’s in Sustainable International Development from Brandeis University in the US in 2016.

CHEA RITHY (Admin & Finance Facilitator)

Rithy (he/him/his) has overall responsible for financial management and administration in SADP. He joined SADP a second time in 2024 after working for SADP from 2014-2016 and then working at other organizations.

He has 25 years’ experience in managerial and leadership roles in NGOs and in the private sector, including as Finance Director, Finance Manager, and Finance Consultant. At PLAN International he was responsible for an annual budget of USD 12 million and at Noro Mall was responsible for an annual budget of USD 14 million. He has strong skills in designing and setting up finance systems, internal control management, policy development, grant management, internal audit, meeting tax requirements, and administrative management.  He received a Master’s Degree in Finance and Banking from IIC University of Technology in 2010 and has been trained in ACCA.

MAY KOSAL (PROGRAM TEAM LEADER)

He is responsible for grant-making, capacity support and agroecological farming projects to Cambodian NGOs and community groups.

He has worked at SADP since 2017. Over this time, he has worked with SADP’s NGO partners on a variety of projects. Through this experience he has developed an excellent understanding of community and social development, challenges facing Cambodian society, and agroecology. He has a bachelor’s degree in Economic and Business Administration from the Cambodian University for Specialties (CUS) in Phnom Penh (2009) and a Master’s in Business Administration from the National University of Management (NUM) in Phnom Penh (2015).
